BTI offers a limited number of awards or scholarships to students.
We appreciate the diversity of student groups, and where possible we work with others to accept funding for scholarships from students from all backgrounds. Scholarships may offer support for fees or accommodation, or may be paid directly to the student.
BTI is committed to supporting and encouraging students to qualify as teacher educators in Aotearoa New Zealand.
We are in the process of determining scholarships for 2025. Please check back later.
We are offering Fees free for the 2024 mid-year intake of the Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Secondary) programme. This is only for domestic students. Please note that Fees free covers the tuition fee only, not levies or any other additional costs.
We can offer one $10,000 scholarship sponsored by Sequal (The Sequal Scholarship) for students from the Eastern Bay of Plenty. To apply, students must complete an application form which includes their reason for applying (including financial need if any, call to Christian education, academic performance), proof of residence, and an outline of what the support/grant will be used for.
Part of Teach NZ’s role is to encourage talented people with their skills, motivation and disposition to teach to enrol in teacher training, and to support successful teachers to stay in the teaching profession. Teach NZ offers a range of scholarships across New Zealand’s teaching sector from Early Childhood to Secondary.
