The 2026 Graduation Ceremony will be held on Saturday 29 May 2027 for 2026 graduates.

TIMELINE FOR GRADUATION

PICK UP REGALIA
Graduands please come to BTI to collect academic regalia on Friday May 15 12.00pm – 5.00pm.
If you have a genuine reason for not being able to attend during that designated time, please contact the Graduation team (graduation@bti.ac.nz) as soon as possible PRIOR TO THE DAY.
Saturday May 29, 2027
CLASS GROUP PHOTOGRAPHS, PROCESSION AND CEREMONY
Graduands need to meet at BTI where official Photographs will be taken of each programme group. Once each photograph has been taken, graduands must remain in their programme groups to prepare for the parade.
Please note: Class group photographs will commence at 12.30pm. The expectation is that all graduands will be at BTI by this time. Groups will be called up in the order indicated below and if you are not there, you will miss out on being in the group photograph.
Family and friends who wish to walk up with the procession are asked to wait by the field until the parade begins.
12:20pm
Graduates congregate at BTI and prepare for formal photographs
12:30 – 1:15pm
Class photographs taken. The order of photographs is indicated below:
- Bachelor of Education (ECE) Graduands
- Bachelor of Education (Primary) Graduands)
- Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Secondary) Graduands
- Masters of Professional Practice Graduands
- Postgraduate Graduands
- Social Work Graduands
- Counselling Graduands
12.20pm (If wet) Graduands meet in hall at bottom of Performing Arts Centre for procession briefing & Class Photos
1:15pm
Marshalling for parade begins whilst photos still in progress
1:20pm
Parade starts
1:50pm
All guests must be seated in auditorium prior to the start of the graduand procession into the auditorium
2:00pm
Ceremony starts
4:30pm
Afternoon tea for Graduands, family & friends and BTI staff
(Graduands to return regalia immediately after afternoon tea)
WET WEATHER
If it is raining, the parade will be cancelled. Graduands will be asked to meet in the hall at the bottom of the Performing Arts Centre at 12:20pm. to prepare for the ceremony and have class photos taken. As the weather can be unpredictable, it is very important that we have your mobile number so that we can contact you in the event of cancellation.
