Biography
Sahra is a BTI graduate of the Primary and Master’s programmes (2009, 2025). She has experience as a primary classroom teacher and has been in her current role at BTI since 2020. Sahra is the practicum coordinator for the Primary and Secondary programmes in the School of Teacher Education, overseeing all aspects of practicum management, including coordinating placements and teaching into professional relationships and practicum expectations. She provides guidance and support for both students and school staff throughout the practicum period.
Areas of Expertise
Sahra’s Master’s thesis explored the portrayal of teachers in New Zealand media. She is particularly interested in how educational policy shapes public perceptions of the teaching profession, and how teachers can maintain a sense of confidence and professional security amidst changing political landscapes.
