Biography
Preetha is the Personal Assistant (PA) to the Head of School, School of Social Practice, and Administrator for School of Social Practice’s Counselling Practicum and Ngā Maunga Āwhina.
For over nine years, she has worked in administration roles within Christian and/or tertiary organisations. Most recently, she provided administrative support for the Head of Counselling at Excelsia College, Sydney, where she played a key role in supporting staff and students during a time of transition. Previously, Preetha worked for the Salvation Army, where she had overall administrative responsibility for their foster care programmes, and at the University of Waikato, Preetha was departmental administrator for the Teaching Development Unit, which included events organisation, promotion and management.
Alongside her work in administration, Preetha is also a ESOL (English as a Second Language) Teacher, having worked for Alphacrucis International College at Auckland and Vision College, Hamilton. Hence, she has completed qualifications in ESOL as well as business administration, and has undertaken short courses in counselling. She is adept in a wide range of administrative software programmes.
