Biography
Jocelyn joined BTI in 2017.
She is a qualified early childhood kaiako and has experience working with the infant and toddler age group within Christian and non-Christian centres.
Prior to coming to BTI, Jocelyn’s passion for empowering children with learning support needs led to her complete studies in specialist teaching, which later supported her in a contractor role with the Ministry of Education, Learning Support Services.
Research
Currently completing her EdD. Jocelyn’s research supervisor is Professor Carmen Dalli from Victoria University.
Jocelyn’s research focus is on intentional teaching, particularly making visible kaiako pedagogical framing of environmental conditions to support the types of experiences toddlers’ have within early childhood settings. In amongst her research, Jocelyn is keen to investigate the teaching positions, and beliefs, kaiako hold that underpin their practices, and how their faith informs these.
