Biography

Helen completed her Bachelor of Arts (Social Work), followed by a Masters in Professional Education & Training in Human Services at Kingston University, London. She is currently working on her Doctor of Health Science: ‘Being well whilst doing good’.

Over the last eight years, Helen has been a valued member of the School of Social Practice as contract educator. She has been involved in the planning, development and delivery of Social Work courses, student care, quality assurance and decision-making.

Helen had many years of experience in Social Work and education prior to joining BTI. She was involved as a Health Social Worker at Tauranga Hospital with special responsibility to the Te Kaupapa Ward.  In the UK, she received the Kite Mark Award for her work with a team of educators delivering school programmes on well-being at Your Charity Choice. Her work has also involved leading seminars and teaching Masters’ students at the Kingston University Social Work Department, UK. She also played a key role in management and policy at Tearfund UK early in her career.
