Biography
Helen started at BTI in 2018 as an Educator in the School of Social Practice. She brings with her 18 years’ experience in the counselling field, including 6 years of clinical supervision. Helen is a certified practitioner in the areas of trauma recovery, substance abuse, Functional Family Therapy, Multi-dimensional Treatment Foster Care, DBT, CBT and Circle of Strength Trainer of Trainers. She is passionate about providing mental health support to under-served communities and has a lifetime experience volunteering with community groups in various roles.
Helen was born in England, emigrated to the US in 1991 and then moved to New Zealand in 2015 to support her family. Helen has two adult children and five grandchildren. Out of work pastimes include reading, music, beach exploring and travelling.
