BTI offers the highest quality tertiary-level education, and we continue to be nationally recognised.

NZQA’s highest ranking as a Category 1 Tertiary Provider

Only accredited Christian early childhood education degree in Aotearoa New Zealand

University monitors acclaim BTI programmes

BTI | Te Whare Tauira o Peterehema was awarded Category One, the highest rating under NZQA’s former External Evaluation and Review (EER) system.

In its most recent EER, the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) stated it was “highly confident in Bethlehem Tertiary Institute’s educational performance” and “highly confident in BTI’s self-assessment capability” – the highest possible confidence judgements under that framework.

While EER categories are no longer issued under NZQA’s new tertiary quality assurance framework, BTI’s Category One status remains recognised for specific regulatory and agency purposes.

You can read the EER report here.

Category 1 Tertiary Provider - NZQA

BTI is currently New Zealand’s only approved and accredited Christian-based degree provider for early childhood education (ECE). This means if you study ECE at BTI you will be among a select group who can integrate their faith with their professional practice as an early childhood teacher.
