In partnering with Education New Zealand and FutureLearn, BTI can make our world-class education available to many more learners across the globe.
Te Taiurungi/Principal of BTI, Dr Andrew Butcher said that this partnership offers a unique opportunity for international students to learn from BTI. “Subscribers to FutureLearn who join our BTI course will have the chance to learn from educators who are at the top of their game, with exceptional research, and leaders in their fields. We are delighted to be part of this innovative international partnership showcasing our amazing education in Aotearoa New Zealand. Now you can really start your BTI education from wherever you are in the world.”
BTI will offer a short course on how to ‘Become a trauma informed mindfulness practitioner’ through FutureLearn’s online training and education platform. The course will be available to FutureLearn’s millions of learners as a Premium course and learners can begin the course from 1st August 2022.
Leading the course on FutureLearn will be Dr Nikki Kiyimba, Head of Postgraduate Studies. “Online learning is already well integrated into our teaching and learning at BTI, so it made sense to join with FutureLearn and Education New Zealand to share my expertise in trauma-informed mindfulness with a larger group of learners,” she said.
“My experience as a Clinical Psychologist working in the UK and with trauma responders overseas has taught me a lot about working with people who have experienced all kinds of trauma in their lives. We live in challenging times, and as a Christian educator I hope I can share with others around the world through FutureLearn some of the things that I have learnt,” said Dr Kiyimba.
