Biography
Nelly considers it a privilege to journey with counselling students as they get excited about enhancing their knowledge and develop valuable skills to becoming effective and competent counsellors.
Nelly completed her Bachelor of Theology at the Bible College of New Zealand and later returned to complete her training as a professional counsellor. She then went on to complete her master and doctoral qualifications from the University of Auckland. She is grateful to God for the wonderful opportunities He has provided her to practise at a family centre and a counselling centre where she gained invaluable experience supporting clients from various walks of life, diverse ethnicities and a myriad of counselling issues. She also worked as a multi-systemic family therapist at a youth organisation supporting families with anti-social adolescents. When she had her own private practice, she was also a family court counsellor and mediator with the Ministry of Justice.
Her original homeland is Singapore. She and her husband, Robert have three amazing adult children and a truly awesome grandson.
