Biography
Aisha is a trained counsellor with over 10 years’ experience. Her counselling roles included facilitating groups such as Boundaries, Living with Anger and other personal development programmes. She also wrote and facilitated a programme for youth aged 15-17, which was aimed at helping them explore identity.
Her most recent role was as the Operations Coordinator of a charitable trust which works with young men who are caught up in lifestyles of alcohol, drugs and crime. Her initial involvement with this trust was as a speaker on the programme Tāi Wātea. Aisha enjoys motivational speaking and often uses her life story to empower others to remember to never give up.
BTI is where she gained her counselling qualification in 2006. Coming back into a role where she can now give back and support students who are stepping into the counselling field is something that she is looking forward to, as Aisha is passionate about helping people to get to where they need to go.
“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. The one who plants and the one waters have one purpose and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service, you are God’s field, God’s building.” – 1 Corinthians 3:6-9
