Now that you have accepted a place at BTI, there are a few important things you’ll need to know in order to prepare for your studies.
Your enrolment forms need to be checked, signed and sent back to us within 7 days so that your enrolment can be processed.
Failure to return your completed forms to us within 7 days may delay your study start date.
These emails contain very important information so please make sure you have read through them carefully.
We understand that sometimes personal circumstances change between applying and starting study. If this has happened and you are unsure about how your studies may be affected, please contact your Programme Administrator immediately. Please don’t leave it till the last minute. If things change and you are thinking about withdrawing or deferring, you need to ensure you are aware of the implications around withdrawal and refunding of fees (see Student Policies).
Get Set is BTI’s short but popular tertiary study skills course that includes: how to write essays, do referencing, paraphrasing, critical reading, note-taking, time management and other useful tertiary study skills. Optional tutorials will also be offered covering basic computing and ICT skills, sentence structure, punctuation, or whatever the professed needs are.
It is an optional course, as it is designed to help those who may be nervous about studying at tertiary level by providing skills and practice for many of the tasks required in BTI programmes. If it has been a while since you left school, or if you are anxious about how you will cope with writing essays or understanding the APA referencing system, it is well-worth coming to Get Set.
It will run from Wednesday 17th to Friday 19th July 2024 and will be running online. You will need to be available between the hours of 9am and 3pm on each of these days.

You will receive a further email from us before the start of the programme with more important information regarding studying with us in 2024 – this will be specific information for you in your programme.
Students who would like to order a BTI Student ID Card can do so online.
These are sent directly out to you.
During your study some courses will have required text books. You must purchase these books to use during these courses.
A list of required texts is available on BTIonline under Resources/General Information.
Many BTI students now buy their books online which can often be more reasonably priced. You could try either Amazon UK or Book Depository.
You can also often find second hand copies on TradeMe (check the year of publication) or on the Facebook group BTI Textbook Marketplace.
Please allow time for delivery from online stores before the start of your course.
This includes an outline of the course, the schedule of topics, readings and other additional information as well as the assignments.
